Richard Jessee, Bastrop MMA’s grappling
instructor who hails from Blacksburg, VA., is a Jiu
Jitsu Black Belt and sport Jiu Jitsu champion who
has trained with some of today’s greatest masters of
modern grappling including: Master Jerry Beasley,
Renzo Gracie, and Truman Capone.   In addition to
his Jiu Jitsu black belt, he has studied and trained
extensively in Judo, Russian Sambo, Catch
Wrestling, and Submission Grappling. Throughout
his long and distinguished martial arts career, Rich
has also studied Aikido and Hsing I Kung Fu.  In
2000, he won 1st place (155 lb. class) at the
National Sport Jiu Jitsu Tournament in North
Carolina.  As a world-class MMA instructor Richard
has 3 undefeated fighters to his credit with a
combined record of 8 and 0.


Mark Laskowski is an internationally certified
5th Degree Black Belt Instructor with over 30 years
of martial arts experience.  As the striking/stand-up
instructor at Bastrop MMA, his martial arts
experiences have been both diverse and extensive.
He currently holds black belts in Hapkido, Tang Soo
Do, Tae Kwon Do, and Kenpo.   He has competed
successfully in full-contact Western Kickboxing, as
well as the open karate tournament circuit. Mark
has also trained extensively in Judo, Jiu Jitsu,
Shotokan and Muay Thai.  He has trained with some
of the world’s greatest martial artists and has
passed black belt exams in front of world-renown
Grand Masters.   Master Laskowski earned his first
black belt in1989 in the traditional Korean art of
Tang Soo Do-Moo Duk Kwan.  He tested for his 1st
Dan in front of internationally acclaimed Grand
Master Jae Chul Shin, and later appeared in his
book,
Traditional Tang Soo Do, Vol. II.
